The wife and I recently returned from a 2 week trip to the West . . . . As you may have seen in some recent Facebook posts, we drove from KC to the YMCA Camp of the Rockies just outside of the Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP).
En-route, we stopped in Victoria, KS and viewed The Basilica of St. Fidelis aka Cathedral of the Plains; this is one of the eight wonders of Kansas. St. Fidelis Church was placed in the National Register of Historic Places as a building of "architectural significance."
We then traveled on to Boulder, CO and spent a few hours at the outdoor Pearl Street Mall . . . very impressive; I’ve never been there before. We met my son, his wife and their 2 year old daughter there as we were spending the week at the YMCA of the Rockies at their invitation. Pearl Street Mall was quite impressive; it was adorned with bronze statues, flowers, a water park for kids in which to play, minstrels, artists and the requisite eclectic shops with many shoppers/visitors on a beautiful day.
On this 1st blog of this vacation I am showing images captured at both the Cathedral of the Plains and the Pearl Street Mall in Boulder.
I will continue the Blog with pictures taken in The Town of Estes Park, CO and the RMNP as well as other locations after departing the YMCA of the Rockies in future days so please come back to my web page (www.dfp-photos.com) and click on the Blog link for updates. Enjoy.
