Today's Blog will cover our vacation trip from the Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP) to Fairplay, CO.  This is basically scenery photos taken along the back roads as we attempted to stay off the Interstate. We left out of The Town of Estes Park on Route 7 early on a Saturday morning; there was little traffic and only a few construction sights. South of Boulder on the West side of the road we passed a famous Catholic Church - Saint Malo Church;  better known as the Church on the Rock. We then moved on to famous mining communities, Black Hawk and Central City, CO now taken over by the gambling industry. Some of the other pictures you will see are early morning photos in the Historic Town of Georgetown, CO followed by images from Guanella Pass (Elevation 11,669’) which is just South of Georgetown. The Guanella Pass Scenic Byway is 22 miles long and traverses the Arapaho National Forest in scenic switchbacks and open pastures through the mountains. In the upcoming days I will post a number of pictures from our stay in Fairplay, CO; most of these images will be of those taken in the attraction known as South Park City; a town that’s become synonymous with a bunch of crude and politically incorrect cartoon characters named Cartman, Kyle, Stan, and Kenny.
