Day 8 - West Fork Trail Hike - Oak Creek Canyon
Today was mostly cloudy with some precipitation but nevertheless, a beautiful day. We decided to hike the very popular West Fork Trail in Oak Creek Canyon. There is limited parking at this location and because of the clouds and rain we didn’t think the lot would be full. This turned out to be a day dream. Parking cost $10 and we still had to wait more than 1 hour to get a parking spot. The West Fork Trail is touted to be one of the best trails in Arizona and one of the top 10 trails in the United States. Round trip it is 7.2 miles long. We didn’t make it all the way to the end but we did a respectable 4+ miles having to cross the stream about 8 times in each direction. The foliage was approaching it’s most beautiful colors and despite the rain, we had a great time! This is the end of my blog on our Sedona vacation. Hope you enjoyed it . . .
