21-Aug – Today we did a walking tour of Regensburg; this community is described as a true medieval city untouched by World War II bombing and rich in architectural splendor. Regensburg is one of Germany’s best preserved cities and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. As we entered the inner city, or Old Town, we crossed the Danube river on a 12th century Old Stone Bridge linking the Old Town with Stadtamhof. For more than 800 years, until the 1930s, it was the city's only bridge across the river. It is a masterwork of medieval construction and an emblem of the city.
