Yesterday I was tagged in Facebook by a colleague (Joe Langer) to participate in a 5-Day Black & White Photo Challenge. I have accepted the challenge and will post 1 B&W photo each day, beginning today. I really don't know where this challenge started but it sounds like fun and during this time of cold weather I can sit in the comfort of my warm home and do some editing on the photos that I have selected. Enjoy, and if you like the image of the day, please 'Share' on your Facebook Page. Thanks for looking.

Traveled to Weston, MO on Saturday for the Fall Irish Festival. Had a great time and got home in time to watch the last half of the ALCS Game 2 between Boston & Kansas City; a GREAT ending to that game. Although we went to Weston to go to the Irish Festival, we did some shopping in town and visited Jeff's Architectural Salvage business where the owner gave me permission to take photos in and on his property. The below slideshow contains some of the images I captured during this day-trip. The Panaroma is the interior of the Weston Burley House and is an HDR image consisting of 24 photographs. The tobacco crop had just been moved out of the facility about 3 weeks ago. The last couple photos are of a Gargoyle on a motorcycle; this cement statue was really pretty eye catching so my wife bought it for me. It’s on the front porch now and I hope it stays there.

Thought I would share with you 4 photos I captured last night. Six of Kansas City’s fountains, as well as several of the privately owned fountains in the Metro area, are dyed blue to celebrate the Royals making it to the playoffs for the first time since 1985. The 4 photo slideshow, below, are from two of those fountains; the Meyer Circle Seahorse Fountain and the JC Nichols Memorial Fountain in the Plaza.

The Plains Indians Exhibit opened last Friday at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City, MO with yet another demonstration of dance, song, dress, and crafts by the talented men and women of the Haskell Indian Nations University, drum groups, singers, and dancers and more. For more information on the Exhibit see http://www.nelsonmuseum.com/museum/Exhibits/Art_of_the_Plains_Indians.
Below you will find a slideshow consisting of 45 photos of primarily the dancers in traditional costume.
